Associate in Science
Program Description:
The Business Entrepreneurship degree program is designed to prepare students to manage small businesses or start their own business or entrepreneurial idea. In addition to entrepreneurship-specific courses, the program provides a general business background in accounting, management, marketing and business law that is applicable to all sizes and types of businesses. The program includes several open business and computer applications electives to allow students to enhance their knowledge and skills in particular areas of interest. This program also complements both of MCC’s entrepreneurship certificate programs, allowing for seamless alignment with our business career course offerings.
Career and Transfer Outlook:
In preparing for the 21st century workforce, it is strongly recommended that students learn entrepreneurial skills. Additionally, business students are looking for an applied program to help them launch a business while taking courses, not just learning business theories. Although there are entrepreneurship programs at 4-year colleges and universities, this program is not specifically oriented toward transfer. Rather, it is a career program designed to support students already involved with or planning to start or manage a small business.
Program Outcomes:
Graduates of the Business Entrepreneurship Program are prepared to:
- Explain the importance of an entrepreneurial mindset in 21st century business
