Program Description:
The Automotive Technology Associate in Science, Liberal Studies degree program prepares students to work in today’s highly automated repair shops and provides the background to advance to supervisory or managerial positions in the automotive industry. Students get hands-on training and instruction in automotive repair and maintenance at Minuteman Regional High School in Lexington, where they learn the requisite technical skills. Students take their general education courses at Middlesex to strengthen communications, computer and management competencies. The MCC associate degree credits for the automotive courses are awarded upon receipt of recommendations from Minuteman faculty. (This program is not approved for college financial aid. Please consult the Student Information Center for tuition and fees.) Students may begin their Middlesex coursework at any time. The coursework at Minuteman Regional High School begins in the fall.
Career and Transfer Outlook:
Students who complete this program find work in the local automotive industry as automotive technicians. The general education and business courses will enable graduates to move into management positions or develop their own business.
