Associate in Science in Liberal Studies

Bedford Campus and Lowell Campus - Day

Program Description:

The Information Technology Web Development Associate in Science, Liberal Studies degree program is designed to prepare students either for transfer to a related bachelor’s degree program, or for employment in a variety of entry-level information technology (IT) positions. The IT degree consists of a general education core curriculum common to all MCC degree programs, an IT program core that covers areas common to all IT careers, and the choice of either a transfer option or a career-specific concentration. The Web Development concentration includes courses in Web design, programming, graphics and multimedia. It provides students with a broad foundation of Web skills for entry into the rapidly evolving field of Web-based IT. Qualified students may be eligible to participate in the IT degree Internship Program.

Career and Transfer Outlook:

Graduates of this program can anticipate either transferring to a bachelor’s degree program or beginning a career at entry-level employment within IT, depending on the concentration selected. Many industries base business systems on information technology. Entry-level employment in an area of IT design, development, administration, maintenance or other specialization related to the concentration selected is appropriate.
