Bedford Campus and Lowell Campus - Day
|
Program Description:
The Information Technology Transfer Concentration Associate in Science, Liberal Studies degree program is designed to prepare students either for transfer to a related bachelor’s degree program, or for employment in a variety of entry-level information technology (IT) positions. The IT degree consists of a general education core curriculum common to all MCC degree programs, an IT program core that covers areas common to all IT careers, and the choice of either a transfer option or a career-specific concentration. The IT Transfer concentration is designed for students who wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field. It satisfies the Commonwealth Transfer Compact for state higher education institutions and has been developed in consultation with selected colleges in the region. Qualified students may be eligible to participate in the IT degree Internship Program.
Career and Transfer Outlook:
Graduates of this program can anticipate either transferring to a bachelor’s degree program or beginning a career at entry-level employment within IT, depending on the concentration selected. Many industries base business systems on information technology. Entry-level employment in an area of IT design, development, administration, maintenance or other specialization related to the concentration selected is appropriate.
