SOC 290 - World Cultures:Honors Seminar3
Course Description: This interdisciplinary seminar examines selected world cultures within context of their literary, historical, religious and philosophical traditions. It also examines the origins and contemporary context of ethnocentrism and racism.
This course supports student development of Written and Oral Communications, Critical Thinking, and Multicultural and Global Perspectives. Prerequisite(s): Completion of ENG 101 with a B or better; completion of 12 college credits with a GPA of 3.2 or better; or by permission of Honors Director. General Education Elective(s): Behavioral Science Elective, Humanities, Social Sciences Elective Note(s): Fulfills the Commonwealth Honors team-taught seminar requirement. This course has been approved to meet the Core Curriculum General Education
