PHY 173 - Physics for Engineering and Science III4
Course Description: This is a calculus-based physics course for students planning to transfer to an engineering or physical science baccalaureate program. Topics include fluid statics and dynamics, properties of solids, oscillations and waves, the ideal gas law, kinetic theory, the 1st and 2nd law of thermodynamics and heat engines. Prerequisite(s): PHY 171 with a grade of C or better and completion of or concurrent enrollment in MAT 291 Note(s): Course is a requirement for Mechanical Engineering students.
