SOC 154 - Criminology3
Course Description: This course analyzes causes of criminal behavior by focusing on the sociological, psychological and biological explanations of crime, as well as the victim/offender relationship using a theoretical approach. The course also focuses on the role of the Criminal Justice system in crime prevention through data analysis and critical analysis of systemic inequalities as a factor in crime rates.
ISLOs: This course supports student development of Written and Oral Communications, Critical Thinking, and Quantitative Literacy. Prerequisite(s): Completion of SOC 101 General Education Elective(s): Behavioral Science Note(s): This course has been approved to meet the Core Curriculum General Education requirement.
