EUT 111 - Principles of Electricity I4
Course Description: This course will cover the fundamentals of Direct Current (DC) and Alternating Current (AC) electricity. Topics include Ohm’s law, Watt’s law, Kirchhoff’s laws, voltage and current dividers, Thevenin and Norton equivalent circuits, maximum power transfer theorem, superposition, wye-delta transformation, transient behavior of RC and RL circuits, DC and AC voltage and current sources, resistance, conductance, inductance, capacitance, impedance, reactance, admittance, resonance, and transformers. Employability skills such as problem solving, teamwork, communication, and others will be emphasized. 3 hours lecture/2 hours laboratory Prerequisite(s): Concurrent enrollment in EUT 101; concurrent enrollment in or completion of TMA 095 with a C or better and CAP 101 Corequisite(s): EUT 101
