LAN 191 - Chinese 1 and Culture

Course Description: Chinese 1 and Culture is an introductory course for beginners. Students will learn Chinese language by developing all four communication skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. They will also learn the Chinese phonetics system, Pinyin, and how to read and write basic sentence patterns and expressions in Chinese. They will respond to expressions and gain an understanding and respect for a different culture.
