3D Modeling Design Micro Credential

Note: This Micro Credential will be available starting in the January 2026 Spring Semester.

Description:

The 3D Modeling Design Micro-Credential is designed for individuals seeking to expand their knowledge in mechanical design, technical drafting, additive manufacturing, and product development. Through a series of hands-on classes, students will learn to create, manipulate, and refine detailed 3D models. The program covers a range of techniques, beginning with an introduction to 3D modeling, where students will learn foundational principles, such as sketching, constraints, and parametric design. As students progress through the coursework, they will explore more advanced topics, including assembly creation, advanced curve creation, multibody part design, and surface modeling.

Career and Transfer Outlook:

This micro-credential is a rigorous, accelerated program designed to prepare students in just two semesters and a summer session to enter the workforce in a variety of related fields. Additionally, the program aligns with the Associate of Science (AS) degree in Engineering Technology/CAD, offering a stackable badge option for those who wish to continue their education and pursue an associate degree.
