Culinary Skills I Micro Credential

Description:

The culinary skills micro credential is designed to provide students with the hands on experience and skills necessary to obtain employment in the restaurant industry. Students will complete 2 hands on culinary skills classes and an online food science and sanitation course. This course will also include a serv safe certification exam. This program is designed to be completed in 1 semester. Students are encouraged to continue to the Culinary Skills II Micro Credential, or to the Culinary Arts Certificate or AS Degree. All courses within this credential will roll into our Culinary Certificate and Culinary AS degree program.

 

Career and Transfer Outlook:

Students completing the 3 course culinary skills bundle will be qualified for employment in the culinary arts field in positions including prep cook, line cook or general cook.

Helpful Hints:

BUS 155 and BUS 157 are offered in the new culinary facility on the Lowell campus during the fall semester only.

Students who complete this Micro Credential are prepared to:

  • Demonstrate the appropriate culinary skills necessary for a variety of professional settings.
  • Work in teams to recognize the meaning of mutual responsibility and prepare to join the diverse workforce of the culinary industry.
