Program Description:
The IT Networking and User Support Associate degree is designed to give students the skills necessary to provide IT support to users. The program provides the required technical background to support networks and IT systems. It gives students an appreciation of the business functions those systems support and the skill to communicate any needed information effectively. The program includes Networking skills, IT support skills, basic scripting skills, and general cybersecurity knowledge to ensure that students are competent in the base skills required to support today’s IT systems. Courses also cover business communication and statistical skills necessary to understand the needs of the people that an organization supports, designing solutions that address real-world problems, and communicating solutions effectively.
Career and Transfer Outlook:
Students who complete the IT Networking and User Support Associate degree are prepared to work in a variety of IT support roles such as helpdesk and technical support positions and to progress into leadership positions within those areas The IT Networking & User Support Associate degree is a MassTransfer eligible program. Students completing the degree are encouraged to consider a business degree in Management information systems or a similar program at the Bachelor’s level.

Students are encouraged to take the courses in the order shown on the program map to ensure the required courses’ availability as they progress through the program, as some courses may be offered only in one semester per year.

Graduates of the Information Technology Networking and User Support associate program will achieve the learning outcomes and are prepared:
- Configure and troubleshoot advanced networking routing and switching systems.
- Collect data, generate solutions, and effectively communicate those solutions to provide support for computing systems.
- Understand the process and requirement to ensure the technology and data is kept secure.
- Extend their skills as new challenges are encountered.
- Understand the socio-economic environments that IT supports.
