Entrepreneurship Certificate

Program Description:

The Entrepreneurship Certificate program develops the student’s entrepreneurial mindset and provides a solid foundation to identify and evaluate opportunities, create value, and develop ideas for future ventures. Students will learn foundational elements of enterprises as well as key entrepreneurial skills.

The program is appropriate for students who want to generally explore entrepreneurship and explore ideas for a future small business or nonprofit in their field of interest. This is an excellent add on to any Associate Degree offered here at MCC and for any academic background.

Career and Transfer Outlook:

This certificate prepares students to investigate starting or growing an entrepreneurial venture. It also prepares students to contribute to the development and innovation of any business in any industry. This certificate rolls into an Associate in Business should a student decide to pursue more academic progress.

Helpful Hints:

This certificate is recommended for any student in any discipline. It is a great addition for students looking to innovate and/or practice within the chosen industry. The elective course options allow students to customize their learning experience to their particular interest and future career path.

Program Outcomes:

Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:

  • Understand the role of entrepreneurship in any discipline.
  • Identify areas of innovation in their field where market opportunities can be developed.
  • Develop practical strategies to create value, plan, and launch viable ventures.
  • Identify foundational elements of any venture.
  • Present oneself and one’s ideas (and/or business opportunities) effectively.
