|
Program Description:
The Communication Career Associate in Science degree program is designed to prepare students for direct workforce entry.
Students will develop their creative, analytical, and technical skills through the practical application of media production tools and the study of communication history, theory, and ethics. They may take courses in video/audio production, film production, photography, screenwriting, journalism, media writing, public relations, social media, communication theory, and media ethics.
Through our internship program, students will also work on real-world projects and build a portfolio of their work, which can be used to showcase their skills to potential employers.
Career and Transfer Outlook:
Upon completing this program, students are prepared to pursue careers in various communication fields, such as television/film production, radio, public relations, journalism, social media, corporate communications, and media production.
Although not intended as a transfer degree, some students do continue on to a bachelor’s degree program on a full- or part-time basis.
Helpful Hints:
Students interested in transferring to a four-year degree upon graduation should consider the A.S. Communication Transfer program.
