Students with a Certificate in Studio Art may pursue careers in illustration, painting, photography and other art-related fields. Students may transfer studio art courses into a degree program at MCC or another institution.

Students should meet with an art advisor to design a course of study that meets their needs, interests and background. Many Studio Art Certificate graduates continue to take additional courses to complete the Studio Art associate degree.
Graduates of the Studio Art Certificate program are prepared to:
Use the creative process to plan and execute their artwork in a variety of media;
Demonstrate knowledge of the formal and expressive aspects of art;
Articulate the concepts and theoretical ideas of art and use those ideas to evaluate their work and the work of others;
Demonstrate knowledge of the technical skills and processes of various art media;
