ART 230 - Ceramics Wheel Throwing3
Course Description: This course is designed as an introduction to the wheel for students who have completed Ceramics I and wish to expand their skills. Focusing on the fundamentals of wheel throwing, students will learn how to center clay, pull walls, and shape basic forms such as bowls, mugs, and cylinders. Throughout the course, students will also explore surface design techniques and glazing applications to enhance their wheel-thrown pieces. The course emphasizes technical skill development, creative expression, and the basics of firing and finishing ceramics.
ISLOs:This course supports student development of Written and Oral Communications, Multicultural/Global Literacy and Critical Thinking.
