COM 180 - Media Literacy in the Age of AI

Course Description: This course challenges students to question and evaluate the media they consume and comprehend their role as media producers. Emphasizing the critical need to counteract mis- and disinformation, students will delve into the complexities of digital image authenticity, open-source verification tools, and the impact of AI on media production and consumption. Students will not only enhance their ability to discern and produce authentic digital content but also contribute to the broader dialogue on media ethics, transparency, and the responsible use of AI in content creation.
Prerequisite(s): Eligible for ENG 101
