EGR 214 - Thermodynamics3
Course Description: This course is designed to introduce students to the basic concepts of thermodynamic systems and their application in real life situations. This course covers the concepts of work; heat; energy; the first law of thermodynamics or conservation of mass and energy; control volume analysis of open systems; the second law of thermodynamics, energy-systems including power cycles, refrigeration cycles, and air-conditioning processes; thermodynamic properties of gases, vapors, and gas-vapor mixtures. Students are introduced to the differences between ideal cycles and actual cycles. Prerequisite(s): Completion of CHE 151 and MAT 291 Note(s): N/A
