LAN 225 - Portuguese 4 and Culture

Course Description: Portuguese 4 and Culture is a fourth semester world language course. Students will continue to learn Portuguese language by developing all four communication skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. They will also learn to expand their reading skills to be able to derive probable meaning of simple unknown words from short familiar contexts and scan a simple text, using headings and graphics. They will learn to write in Portuguese a description of a future event or activity and a story with simple linear sequence. They will gain a deeper understanding and respect for a different culture.
Prerequisite(s): Completion of LAN 224 with a grade of C- or better or placement by exam.
