BIO 240 - Microbiology For Industrial Applications4
Course Description: A practical study of microorganisms, with an emphasis on the isolation, culture, characterization, and laboratory manipulation of these organisms. Approaches microbiology from a microbial ecology viewpoint as it relates to the biotechnical and applied industrial microbiology laboratory. Use of experimental protocols, standard operating procedures, good laboratory practices, the scientific method, and the laboratory notebook are stressed. 3 hours lecture/3 hours laboratory Prerequisite(s): Completion of ENG 101, BIO 131, and CHE 121; and completion or concurrent with TMA 100.
