Description:
The Private Security micro-credential is designed to give students the knowledge to obtain employment with private security agencies. This program is designed to be completed in one or two semesters. Students are encouraged to continue on to obtain an Associate’s Degree in Criminal and Social Justice. All the courses within this micro-credential will count towards the Associate’s Degree.
Career and Transfer Outlook:
Students who earn this micro-credential will have a more competitive resume to obtain job with private security agencies; several private security agencies have announced in their job postings that preferred qualifications are: ‘some college courses in the field’. Students pursuing this micro-credential will be eligible to work as Campus Safety Officers at MCC as well as other private security agencies through the Office of Career Integrated Learning at MCC.

Students must meet the pre-requisite for the courses in this micro-credential - Eligible for ENG101
