HST 125 - Baseball and the American Experience:1840 to Present3
The study of baseball as a national pastime in the United States can illustrate major themes in American history. Through an examination of the game itself, media coverage, government interaction, teams, major figures and movements within the game, students will achieve an understanding of themes and forces that have shaped modern America. Topics include labor history, demographics, racial integration, social change and journalism.
Prerequisite(s): Eligible for ENG 101 Recommendation(s): Concurrent enrollment in ENG 075 or ENG 085 if CPT reading placement test is between 68 and 75 General Education Elective(s): Social Science
