Middlesex Community College Student Handbook 2021-22 [ARCHIVED CATALOG]
A Message From the Dean of Students

To the College Community:
As a marketplace for ideas, Middlesex recognizes that civility and respect are essential. Committed to the core principles of personal and social responsibility, the College appreciates and expects that all people are treated with dignity both in and out of the classroom. Student rights and responsibilities are clearly stated in this Student Handbook along with College policies. A Student Code of Conduct has been adopted by the community colleges statewide and is enforced using an educational philosophy that provides for due process while supporting a safe learning environment. All students are expected to be knowledgeable of, and comply with, these directives, regulations and laws established by the Board of Higher Education, the College, and Student Government.
The college emulates its Core Commitments and Honor Code through a variety of means and oversight is provided through the Center for Community Standards. As your Dean of Students, my role is to oversee the Center and ensure a climate of civility and respect, where all students have the opportunity to pursue higher education. I value the principles of life-long learning, student engagement, social responsibility and personal and professional development, and believe my primary charge is to advocate for all students and guide them on their path to success.
I hope you find this handbook to be a resource and know my door is always open. Best of luck on your educational journey.
Sincerely,
Rebecca H. Newell
Dean of Students
