Getting Started


  1. Apply for Admission to the College — (see Admission  for complete information).
    • Select the Admissions link on our website at www.middlesex.mass.edu or call 1-800-818-3434 to request an application.
    • Make an appointment to see an academic counselor in the Academic, Career & Transfer Center to talk about your goals and possible major program of study — (see Admission  for academic planning information).
    • Once we receive your application, we will send you an admission letter and forms that you will need to return to us.
    • Apply for financial aid — (see Financial Aid  for complete information).
  1. Schedule your College Placement Test Appointment
    • Log on to www.middlesex.mass.edu or call 1-800-818-3434 (see Admission  for testing information).
    • You may not have to take the test if you have previously completed college-level coursework in English and mathematics.
    • In order to be eligible to participate in a specific academic program and/or enroll in credit classes, students must achieve a minimum score of 33 out of 120 on the reading portion of this test.
  1. Register for Classes
    • Admitted Students Enrolling in Day Classes:
      Make an appointment to attend a Getting Started Academic Advising and Registration session at www.middlesex.mass.edu or by calling 1-800-818-3434.
       
    • Five Easy Ways to Register for Evening, Weekend, and Online Classes:
    Web Log on to www.middlesex.mass.edu and click on MiddleNet – our online enrollment link
       
    Phone Call 1-800-818-3434 from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.  Monday through Friday (out of state call 978-656-3370) 
       
    Fax A completed registration form to 978-656-3443
       
    Mail Your completed registration form to MCC Enrollment Communications & Support, 33 Kearney Square, Lowell, MA 01852-1987

  1. Take Care of Business
    • Make arrangements to pay your tuition and fees — (see Cost of Attendance  for complete information).
    • Ways to pay your bill include: The MCC payment plan, check, credit card or financial aid — (see Financial Aid  for complete information, including scholarship information).
    • Get your Student ID –  Middlesex students can get a student identification (ID) card in the MCC Fitness Center, located in the Bedford Campus Center (Building 8), or in the Lowell Campus Student Lounge (Merrimack Building, 5 E. Merrimack St.). Bring your student ID card to the library circulation desk and it will be validated for use as your library card. Show your student ID for discounts at local stores, restaurants, cinemas and public transportation stations.
