Program Description:

The Entrepreneurship Certificate program develops the student’s entrepreneurial mind set and gives them the essential tools to identify and evaluate opportunities in their related fields and prepares them to effectively develop business plans and strategies for launching.  The program is appropriate for students planning to start a small business, grow a business, or planning to play a role in a growing business through innovation regardless of academic discipline.

Career and Transfer Outlook:

This certificate prepares students to investigate, start and/or grow a small business venture. It also prepares students to contribute to the development and innovation of any business in any industry.

In accordance with Federal regulations, Middlesex Community College discloses information about student costs, tuitions, fees and employment statistics to various governing bodies to ensure certification and oversight.

This certificate is recommended for any student in any discipline. It is a great addition for students looking to innovate and/or practice within the chosen industry. The elective course options allow students to customize their learning experience to their particular interest and future career path.

Program Outcomes:

Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:

  • Understand the role of entrepreneurship in any discipline.
  • Identify areas of innovation in their field where business opportunities can be developed. 
  • Develop practical strategies to implement and launch viable businesses. 
  • Identify a target market and develop strategies to reach it. 
  • Present oneself and one’s ideas (and/or business opportunities) effectively and with conviction. 
  • Effectively prepare a business plan.

Notes: Additional Coursework may be required based on college placement testing. Students are urged to meet with their academic advisor for proper course selection.
