Course Description: This course will provide students with a foundation in clerical and interpersonal skills necessary to develop a strong organizational skill set as a phlebotomist.
Course Student Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate proficiency in the recognition of commonly used ICD-10 codes and medical billing procedures.
- Identify the tenets of being a health care professional and the basics of customer service.
- Demonstrate the ability to utilize the laboratory information system and process specimens accordingly while understanding the significance and importance of bar-coding and patient identity matching.
