BUS 226 - Computerized Accounting


Course Description: Computerized Accounting integrates the processing of accounting information using a general ledger software package to record financial transactions, maintain accounting records, and utilize analytical tools for business decision making. The course further develops an in-depth exposure to accounting topics such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, payroll, financial statements and report generation. 
Prerequisite(s): Completion of BUS 220 or BUS 221

Course Student Learning Outcomes:
  •  Create entries for a computerized accounting system
  •  Generate and customize financial statements as well as supplemental reports 
  •  Analyze data and process transactions relating to the organization’s sales, purchases, expenses, inventory, payroll, adjusting entries and jobs 
  •  Evaluate software set up procedures for creating and maintaining the chart of accounts, vendors, customers, inventory, payroll, and job costing modules functioning as an accounting information system
