SON 211 - Principles of Pediatric Sonography
Course Description: This course is designed to cover normal and abnormal anatomical and sonographic appearances of various organs and systems in the pediatric patient. Interventional procedures, scanning protocols, technique and clinical skills will be covered.
Prerequisite(s): Completion of SON 221
Note(s): Open to Diagnostic Medical Sonography degree students only.
Course Student Learning Outcomes:
- Differentiate between normal and abnormal sonographic findings in the pediatric patient.
- Formulate provisional diagnoses upon identification of the abnormal sonographic appearances of structures and systems in the pediatric patient.
- Explain scanning protocols and techniques for pediatric patients that would take place in the clinical setting.
